Jesus Teaches About Divorce
Matthew 5:32-32
31 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’[f] 32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
REFLECTION:
God intends for marriage to be a lifetime commitment. When entering marriage people should never consider divorce an option for solving problems or a way out of a relationship that seems dead. Are my actions helping my marriage grow stronger or are my actions tearing my marriage apart?
APPLICATION:
Consider one way that I may make my marriage grow stronger and practice it each day for the remainder of the Lenten season.
PRAYER:
Lord, I thank you for giving me a chance to make my marriage better. I ask that you help me to see my spouse like you see him/her and help me to practice the one thing I committed to for the Lenten season and beyond, to make my marriage better. And most of all, help me to trust you to make me and my marriage better.
